Too Short! Time went by in the blink of an eye. Our stay was fantastic. It was just like being at home, except the views, sounds, and wildlife are much, much better. The cabin is great. We ate on the porch, drank coffee on the deck and enjoyed every fleeting minute. Alvin and Theodore, the chipmunks, proved quite a bit of entertainment – can come in a small package. The Blue Jays are huge! Thank you for the puppy treats and we were able to meet your neighbor and her frenchie Zoe. Our frenchie Zoey enjoyed/tolerated the company. It was just too short to be a week. Thank you so much – Brenda, Bruce, Sharon –n- Zoey, Sherman, TX August 2012

We had the most relaxing, enjoyable weekend at your beautiful cabin. We haven’t had such a restful night’s sleep in months. All our stress just melted away after sitting on the deck and enjoying the comforts you provide. We will look forward to a future visit. Thank you for everything! Peewee & Kelly, Aurora, CO & Tom & Pat, Aurora, CO August 2012

We really had a wonderful time in your cabin. It had ALL the comforts of home. Also, thank you so much for being so kind to us with our last minute plans to stay. Mark caught a couple fish (which made him very happy), and his mother and I thought the cabin was lovely. Thank you Again! Mark, Judy, & Glenda, Colorado Springs and Illinois August 2012

Clean, homey, easy access to park, August 10, 2012

We just returned from a week and greatly enjoyed ourselves. As other reviewers have noted, the house is clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, and the owners make you feel truly welcome (they provided the ingredients and instructions for making homemade ice cream -- it was incredibly good). We loved the park and you have easy access to it from the home. There's not much I can say about Rocky Mountain National other than you can't say too much about! It's a real gift to visit. I didn't love the town of Estes Park -- too cookie-cutter touristy and, aside from Ed's Cantina, which is quite good, a lot of restaurants that didn't appeal to us -- but that didn't matter. We spent our days in the park and cooked in the cabin at night. It was lovely. Thank you very much. Carla, Chicago, IL August 2012

We absolutely loved High Echo, Estes Park, and RMNP! The girls shared the 2nd bedroom and the boys shared the futon (they usually wake up early). Our kids are 13, 10, 8, and 6, so we chose easier hikes like Bear Lake to Dream Lake; Ouzel Falls; Gem Lake, and the shorter hikes off of Trail Ridge Road. We would pack lunches and water to enjoy at these scenic locations. The weather was cool (compared to scorching Omaha), and we ate dinner outside every evening. The kitchen had all the amenities we needed and the fridge was a perfect size. We all slept perfectly after a hard day’s hiking on the comfy beds. Thank you! We hope to be back! CALGON TAKE ME AWAY, July 14, 2011

The property is clean, quiet, and well-organized. When I walked in, the pictures were very accurate. The proximity to the road was closer than I thought, but not bad at night when I spent most of my time there. Very easy to get with the owners and to the property. If I get back soon, I will for sure check the availability of this place…Mark, Kansas City, MO July 2012

Cozy, Comfortable House, July 16, 2012 We had a delightful week in this home. It is spacious, comfortable, and close to the amenities offered in Estes Park. The beds are fabulous--more comfortable than home--I think we could call them heavenly beds. This is an ideal place to stay, if you like having great outdoor space to cookout, picnic, or just lounge outside to read or enjoy the sounds of the Big Thompson. The kitchen is well supplied with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals. We especially appreciated the fact that the owner allowed us to bring our beloved pet. We had a wonderful stay in your cozy home. All of the amenities available to us were appreciated. Bart and Maggie enjoyed the treats you left them. We will share information with others about High Echo. God Bless You, Ann, Carla, Bart & Maggie, Lincoln, NE July 2012

Thanks Patricia! We got home around 8 last night. We really enjoyed ourselves. I hope the fires out there settle down. We are praying for the safety of all those in Colorado. Please take care! We hope to be out again next summer, if not sooner! Mary & Jim and Jason & Amber, Omaha, NE June 2012

We have enjoyed our time in your cabin so much. Thank you for good Christian friends though we have never met. God Bless You, Duane & Karen OH September 2011

Thanks so much for use of your cabin! Everything was great as usual! We’ll keep in touch! Erv & Vel Greeley, CO September 2011

Thank you so much for letting us come for a last minute getaway. We had a blast. I haven’t been since the late 90’s – your remodel is beautiful! It was so great to fish and cruise around town and catch the Scottish parade. The kids loved every minute and didn’t want to leave. Thank you again for blessing us! See you soon. Drew & Melissa, Abby & Jack, Monument, CO September 2011

This was a very special place for Vel and I to spend our 48th anniversary. Thank you for making it special. High Echo is a very clean and neat home and we hope to have many more times to enjoy the place. The Hermit State Park had good hiking and we had fun on Karmit trail. Thank you. Erv & Vel, Greeley, CO August 2011

The last 3 weeks have been wonderful; thank you for letting us and our dogs, Minnie & Todd, stay at High Echo. The cabin is very comfortable, the master bed is sooo comfortable, that after our stay last August 2010, we ordered one just like it. We have enjoyed reading books, taking walks with our dogs, going to the movies, and eating at some very, very good restaurants. High Echo and Estes are a dream come true. Thank you. Sarita & Lynn Boulder City, NV August 2011

Our family had a wonderful time in your cabin!! Thanks for all of the special touches!! We loved the master bedroom and especially the comfy bed. The boys loved the fly fishing lesson with Jonathan at Estes Park Mountain Shop. They continued to fish just outside the cabin and catch rainbow, browns, and cutthroat trout. We enjoyed our hikes to Dram Lake, The Loch and Brierstadt Lake. The cabin and the sound of the river was soothing after our long hikes. We hate to leave, but hope to return soon! Troy, Laura, Jacob & Elise, Richardson, TX July 2011

Thank you so much for having us at your beautiful cabin – we had an amazing time. Your home provided us a great resting place after our busy days hiking, horse back riding, and adventures in RMNP. On behalf of my wife and our two kids, again we say Thank you! I am sure we will be back! Steve & Barb, Blue Springs, MO, July 2011

Thank you! Enjoyed our stay. Well-kept, clean property. Thank you so much. Kari, Dan, Caroline & Kate, Roscoe, IL, July 2011

We would like to say thank you tremendously for having us in your wonderful cabin. It was so comfortable, relaxing and special. We were so touched you went out of your way to make it special for us to celebrate our 2nd anniversary! It meant so much to us to be able to bring our girls, our black lab Maddie and our golden retriever Jane. They appreciated the treats you left for them, and the Champagne glasses and sparkling juice were wonderful touch to toast our anniversary. We enjoyed Estes a LOT! The girls had a blast at the dog park you suggested. Thanks for the tip! We enjoyed a great horseback ride and dinner and a rafting trip (we are going tomorrow and think it will be wonderful!). The cabin is just wonderful. The bed is just like ours at home, and my husband enjoyed a nap or two on the couch with the sound of the river right outside. We hope to come back again and will definitely be coming back to your cabin! Thanks again for making our anniversary that much more special.  Justin & Emily, Taylor, TX June 2011

We enjoyed our stay. thanks again, Lisa  Denver, CO March 2011

We had a good time here. Your cabin is wonderful for a week’s visit, griller works GREAT, and everything functioned so well. I am a stock trader and your internet connection was 100%. You all performed an outstanding job in remodeling the cabin – also info on what to see and do was helpful. Your detailed instructions, organization and excellence show well here! Thanks for this nice place! We did some hikes in the Park and enjoyed a raft trip at Ft Collins. Saw 3 black bear cubs in a tree beside the highway to Ft. Collins. Hope to visit again. High Echo rental price is a very good value and the setting is GREAT! Enjoyed your book on Greeley – 100 years also the one concerning the flood. TV’s and internet were 100%! Thanks for your generous hospitality. Blessings, Rex & Bobbie, Edmond, OK August 2010.

We had a wonderful time. Living in the SW desert near Las Vegas, NV, we came for the cool weather. Looking forward to our next visit and staying at High Echo Cabin. Sarita & Lynn, Las Vegas, NV August 2010.

What a wonderful, beautiful area for this cabin! Thank you so much for allowing our family to vacation here – to have a home away from home for a week. We really enjoyed our trip to Estes, to RMNP, and Fort Collins to white water raft – a highlight of our trip. Another one was coming back from Loveland, about 10 miles out, a bear ran right across the road in front of us. Unfortunately, we did not have our camera ready – but so neat to see! We did see a lot of other animals, mule deer, elk, and coyote as well. We enjoyed many hikes – such beautiful scenery here. Thanks for all the extra touches here. You have everything very organized and clean which was much appreciated. This was our first trip to Colorado and we all can say we really loved and enjoyed this trip and this cabin. Thank you. Great remodel job! Blessings, Quintin, Tame, Travis, Mitchell & Cassie, Alton, IA July 2010.

We have stayed in many cabins in Colorado and South Dakota; your cabin was the best stocked of any. We enjoyed the hummingbirds and the stellar blue jays. We like the newly remodeled bathrooms. We though the medicine cabinets with lots of mirrors were great. We also enjoyed your books to read. Thanks for the welcome basket!! We enjoyed our stay at your cabin!! Pati and Family, Lincoln, NE July 2010.

We stayed with Jim & Mary. We also had a great time. We feel very at home in the cabin and we love the wildlife that we’re able to see. Jason & Amber, Omaha, NE June 2010.

We had a wonderful time on our second visit to High Echo. We love the cabin, its location, and all of the amenities. Thank you for providing such an oasis in the mountains! Mary & Jim, Omaha, NE June 2010.

Once again, thank you for your generosity for allowing us to stay! Just what we needed – rest, exercise, and quiet. Thanks for blessing us. Mike & Johnny Windsor, CO May 2010.

Thanks so much for sharing your mountain getaway with us. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. We needed a place of quiet (kid-free) to process, pray, and rest in the Lord! We found that here…thank you so much for sharing your home with us. Blessings, Phil & Nicole Greeley, CO May 2010.

You two are wonderful and your home is so relaxing and beautiful. We had the most relaxing, romantic Valentines night away. Thanks for your generous hospitality! We can’t tell you how much we needed this getaway! Devan & Tina Longmont, CO Feb 2010.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. Everything we could possibly need or want was here. The views are lovely and you even provided a soft, beautiful, light snowfall on our last day. Thanks you again. The Langstons Westminster, CO Feb 2010.

We did have a very nice time at your cabin and had a great week enjoying the park. On Friday after a long hike we were sitting on the deck reading our books when I noticed something out of the corner of my eye, I looked up and there was a beautiful black bear right by the propane tank heading right for us.  I stood up and yelled at it and it ran behind the cabin where we were able to watch it for a little white...way cool. We had a great time and are looking forward to coming back to the area again as soon as we can. Rosanne & Dennis, August 2009 Madison, WI

I offer another installment of very happy guests in your home. Our family really needed a week away together and Tara and I wanted a special place to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We spent the week relaxing here in the house, taking as many meals outside by the river as we could. Music of the guitar and violin often filled the house. We also enjoyed the hiking in the Rockies, especially Mills Lake and Emerald Lake trails, and we drove the Trail Ridge Route. Nathan (16), Peter (14), Elizabeth (12), and Joshua (8) loved the elk, deer, marmots, and hummingbirds we saw. The evenings were spent trying to de-throne me as the Grandmaster of Hearts. Tara fixed wonderful meals, including steak on the grill!! In addition, we rode horses and did a fly fishing workshop. So much to do! The week went so fast. I should also mention that this week I led my family in a study of Ephesians 4. It is our hope to model in our family the characteristics Paul sets out for the church. Thank you for being so incredibly organized, everything was clearly marked. You have a truly lovely home! We pray God’s blessing upon your family. Sincerely, Tim, Tara, Nathan, Peter, Elizabeth, & Joshua, August 2009 Ames, IA

Thank you for letting us stay for a week in your cabin. We had fun because there was plenty of good room to use. We felt very comfortable in our beds and the deck was very enjoyable. We always tried to use the wonderful outdoor things as well as the indoor. Avital, age 8.  Being the first time ever renting a cabin in Colorado, we decided that it was very worthwhile – even our guinea pig enjoyed it. Even if we came from a long hike, a nice horseback ride, or exciting white water raft, we felt that we came back home. The house is very clean and organized, and you did a tremendous job of renovation (based on the photograph). We enjoyed the hummingbirds and picnic area next to the porch and we especially liked the sound of the flowing river next to the house. If we choose to come back to this area again, we know exactly where to go. Eytan, Olga, Liron, Avital, and Spencer (the guinea pig) August 2009, Woodridge, IL

Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We found the stay enjoyable and relaxing. The size of your home was perfect for our growing family and a perfect environment for our 28 month old granddaughter. We especially enjoyed the nice deck, the spacious master suite, and the hummingbirds! We all appreciated your attention to detail with the amenities offered in your welcome basket. We hope your home will be available in future years at such a reasonable price! Blessings to you both and your family. David & Mary, July 2009, Federal Way, WA

Thank you so much for providing my family with excellent, comfortable accommodations during our vacation. Sarah and I and our four children thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only two problems we encountered were a shortfall of washcloths (there must have been 25 or more) and we overloaded the garbage can in the garage. On the upside, Sarah wanted to see a bear and her wish came true on Wednesday night when one came out of the trees to drink from the hummingbird feeder. We were all within feet of him, inside the house of course! We would definitely be interested in renting this cabin again when we return to Estes Park. Sincerely, Sarah & Family, July 2009, Cabot, AR

Thank you for letting us stay again in your beautiful home. We love your cabin and the peacefulness here. It feels like home except in beautiful country. I sure enjoyed the hummingbirds and hope I can start attracting some around our home in Nebraska. You are also so good to us and I can’t say enough “Thank you’s” for your clean home and allowing pups to come here too. God bless you and your family, Jenifer, Casey & Samuel – We will definitely be back in the future. July 2009, North Platte, NE

Thank you so much for your help and the beautiful cabin. We had a great time reminiscing about our childhood days spent hiking and camping here. Was fun. The 2 sisters. May 2009, Grand Bay, AL

Your home is beautiful and very comfortable. The weather was rainy most of our stay yet we had a great time. Friday we went to RMNP. It was very foggy and began to snow. We turned back and went to Bear Lake. We later learned they closed Trail Ridge Road. We are going back today. We did see many elk and several antelope. The guys went fishing at Sylvan Dale Ranch with Kirk’s Fly Shop. We ate at Hunter’s Chop the last evening. Thanks for the tip!! It was very good. – Sheila, Rod, Keith, Shuren & Jennifer – PA – August 2008

Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin! We really enjoyed the comfort of the cabin. We had a leisurely breakfast most days. We strolled down town Estes several times and enjoyed eating at Bob & Tony’s Pizza and Penelope’s for burgers. We ventured to the RMNP several days to hike. Our favorite was Emerald Lake – breath taking. We drove to Grand Lake one day via Old Fall River Road. On our drive back we saw a herd of elk way atop of Trail Ridge Road. We had a fantastic week and greatly enjoyed lots of R & R. Jeff, Carol, Cole & Zak – Berryton, KS – August 2008

Thank you for letting our family stay in your home. Your “extra touches” were so welcoming – even the grandchildren noticed. We loved the porch and deck and spent a great deal of time out there. We each grilled a couple of nights. The chipmunk became a frequent visitor and he was affectionately named “Theodore” by Brent, our 3 year old. You’ve made this a home away from home and we loved it. We’ve been coming to Estes Park for over 30 years and now our son and his family are making this a frequent destination also. Thanks again. Dave & Dianne – Summit, MO – August 2008

Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful cabin. We loved it. We also loved all of the wildlife. We especially enjoyed the surprise visit from the bear. We’ll send pictures! Thanks, Sherri, Thad, Blake & Brandt - TX – July 2008

We had so much fun in your cabin. My dad used your fishing pole and caught 3 fish but threw them back. We went to Rocky Mountain National Park and had so much fun at Bear Lake. We didn’t see a bear but all of it was fun. Do you have bats here, because I think we saw some? Lindsay, Kelly, Kendell, Luke, Ashlyn – TX  - July 2008

Thank you for allowing us to use your home. It was a wonderful week. We enjoyed many of the views, hikes, and fishing. Our grandkids had a great break from their hectic schedule. It was nice to sit on the deck and watch the birds and chipmunks. Hoped to finish the puzzle but did not have enough down time. Loved our visit. Thanks, George & Ginny & 3 grandkids. IN – July 2008

We had an amazing time and we couldn’t stop talking about how great this cabin is. On our first day here, we saw an elk walking through our driveway! We enjoyed sitting on the front deck, reading, talking, eating, or whatever almost as much as we enjoyed the amazing sites in the area. This was probably our most relaxing vacation ever. We also enjoyed all of the sounds like the Thompson River, raccoons, and birds. We even had a chipmunk come visit and a hummingbird. I think we all really loved our vacation!! Thanks, Jason, Amber & Hannah -Council Bluffs, IA - June 2008

Where to begin with such a fantastic place? Not an hour after arriving, we saw our first elk of the weekend. What a way to start! The cabin was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous. We spent plenty of time exploring RMNP and were able to see many elk, marmots, deer, and chipmunks. Deck was a great place to sit and soak in the beauty. I loved watching the hummingbirds and we even had a chipmunk visit during dinner on Sunday lunch. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We had everything we needed. It was perfect!! We will be back for sure. Thank you! – Mary & Jim - Omaha, NE - June 2008

Patricia, we had a great stay at High Echo, very relaxing. Didn’t see any bears but we saw deer, chipmunks, rabbits and hummingbirds. Thanks for the welcome pack! Dowings - ENGLAND, - June 2008

Dear Patricia, Wanted to thank you for letting us rent your cabin.  Our family had a fantastic vacation and one we will talk about for many years.  Nobody wanted to leave!  We saw lots of wildlife (elk, hummingbirds, jays, crows, chipmunk, and etc.) right around the cabin.  We were really fortunate to see two different black bears.  We saw a large black bear walking near the sailboat parked across the highway.  However, our favorite bear sighting was the smaller black bear that visited your cabin.  The girls really enjoyed watching the bear drink water from the hummingbird feeders.  Eventually, the bear knocked the feeders out of the tree and sat on your stone patio and licked everything clean.  We watched it for about 5 - 10 minutes.  Attached are some pictures.  Unfortunately, we had to use our cell phone camera to take the pictures. We had just got back from Rocky Mountain National Park and all the cameras were in the car.  Also, we saw a large elk in front of the cabin and were able to take pictures of it with our digital camera (will email later).  We hope to be back again soon and for a longer stay.  Again . . .thanks so much !!!    Your cabin is really nice, well maintained, and organized for first time users.  Additionally, its in a perfect location and the process steps to rent it are easy, safe, and dependable . . . again thanks.   It was just like Kathy & I remembered as kids visiting Colorado with our parents  . . . .Thanks !!!

Hi Patricia: Amy and I had a fabulous time visiting your beautiful cabin. We greatly appreciate your kindness and attention to detail in all aspects of our stay. We will certainly think of you first the next time we are in the area and hope that the cabin will be available. Right now we are thinking of trying to visit next August. By the way, last Saturday at 5:40 AM and again about 10:00 AM a full grown black bear paid a visit to the dumpster in front of the cabin. I am not sure if this is a regular occurrence or not, but we were most pleased to receive a visit. Unfortunately we were too slow to get a picture in both instances. Thanks again and best wishes, Kevin 7/07

We just wanted to say thank you for letting us rent your cabin. We had a wonderful time and none of us wanted to leave. Your cabin is beautiful and just the perfect size. We saw and did many things while we were there. I did do a lot of fishing, usually in the morning. I caught several nice size trout. We were not lucky enough to see a bear in the dumpster like your one renters wrote in the book there. That must have been a real treat. We did see several elk and more hummingbirds than I have ever seen, along with a fox at night. Anyway, thanks again for everything. If we ever get the chance to stay in Estes Park again I will be sure to keep you mind. I will also forward your website to anyone else that I know is looking. Have a wonderful rest of the year and we look forward to making it out to Colorado again soon. Derek and Rachel 7/07

Thank you very much.  We had a FANTASTIC time in High Echo and in Estes Park.  I'm busy working on scrapbooking all the wonderful pictures we got while we were there.  We will definitely keep you and High Echo in mind if/when we are ever able to make it back to Colorado.  Thanks again.

Jack and Julie 8/06

Dear Patricia and Bob, We had a great time and found the cabin to be a delight.  It is beautiful and so cozy, but with all the amenities.  Our Katie was delighted on our last morning we finally got to meet the blue jay that had been taking the peanuts.  It is such a lovely spot.  Thanks again for sharing your home with us.

Sincerely, Jackie 7/06

Your cabin was so relaxing and wonderful and will definitely be our choice for our next visit to Colorado, whenever that may be.  Thank you so much for the experience!
